We didn’t believe it either when we heard it, but as it turns out, the very same fruit you eat can be used in place of your usual blush, mascara, eyebrow pencil, and lip products. Admittedly this sounded a little weird at first, but the proof is all over YouTuber Megan Elizabeth’s face!

We stumbled upon the first makeup video from Megan Elizabeth awhile back, thanks to one of our staff, in which she showed us how to look “made up” using nothing more than some blackberries, a sliced beet, and a couple of makeup tools. Recently, she has updated her little raw makeup routine with a new ingredient.

She still uses fruit (blackberries) as her main source of color, but she also added spirulina powder to make a darker colored paste. She also stopped using beets as her cheek color, so all the makeup was done with just 2 ingredients. Don’t believe us? Watch the video below to see Megan’s transformation!

Megan Elizabeth is already beautiful and amazingly the blackberry/spirulina mixture seems to work quite well for adding color, polish, and definition! Very impressive and interesting to see someone think outside the box here.
